In loving memory of Philip Toube, fondly known as Oupie

Rainbow was more than just a name — it embodied everything our founder, Phil Toube, believed in and lived by.

Phil passed away suddenly on May 8th, 2025, at the age of 83, after complications from COVID-19. His legacy, however, lives on through the passion, optimism, and love he poured into his work. Inspired by his dedication, Phil's children and grandchildren proudly continue his mission today.

After initially starting his career in the pharmaceutical industry, Phil discovered his true calling in the homeopathic field — particularly in creating healthier, natural alternatives for babies. His commitment to safe and effective teething solutions led to the founding of Rainbow Teething Powders & Gels, a brand dedicated to helping parents and their little ones through the challenges of teething.

The name Rainbow reflects not only South Africa's beautiful diversity — our rainbow nation — but also Phil's deeply held values of hope, resilience, and optimism. To him, every storm was followed by a rainbow — a symbol that brighter days are always ahead.

Phil's passion came through in two profound ways:

• Helping families: He believed in providing accessible, natural relief for babies experiencing teething discomfort, and support for the parents who care for them.
• Spreading hope: In both teething and life, his message was simple and powerful — never give up. Even during the toughest days, there's always a rainbow to remind us that good things lie ahead.
